Malaga Animal Protection Laws Delayed

Malaga Animal Protection Laws Delayed

Malaga Animal Protection Laws Delayed – laws to protect animals in Malaga have been delayed.  A series of by-laws in Malaga which would protect animals from mis-treatment and stress should have been passed in February.  The laws would offer protection to circus animals in particular.

The new law doesn´t ban performing animals outright, but says that offenders will be “closed with the slightest indication that animals suffer some stress or psychological abuse”.

Sustainability Councillor Raul Jimenez has redrafted the bylaws after the General Secretary knocked them back again.  If this clause designed to protect animals used for entertainment continues to be a stumbling block then it may be removed completely.
