Police Stop Knife Wielding Man In Fuengirola – watch dramatic footage of police apprehending a man wielding a knife

Police Stop Knife Wielding Man In Fuengirola

Police in Fuengirola were called to the sea front on Sunday after a man with a knife terrorised diners at a restaurant.  Armed police confronted the man in front of the Oasis chiringuito, before two offices used batons to disarm and disable him.  The man was then arrested before being taken for medical treatment in Fuengirola.

A local resident captured dramatic footage of the incident:

Expats have been reacting to the footage, with many expressing approval for the swift and effective police action.  Ady Buttress said “That’s how you do it! If police did that in U.K. They would be up for an assault charge”.  Baz Williamson says “No messing around. And all over in about 5 seconds”.  Lorraine Erreira approves of the police action “Exactly what should be done. No messing about”.  However, Denny Jackson feels that the police reaction was “like a punishment beating, and out of proportion”.
