British Criminal Killed In Costa Del Sol Police Shoot Out
A convicted British criminal has been killed in a shoot out with police at a hotel on the Costa Del Sol. Sean Hercules from Leeds had been involved in a car crash in Puerto Banus and fled the scene. Witnesses reported that he was armed. Police tracked him to the Aparthotel in Cancelada.
When Spanish police arrived at the hotel to arrest Hercules he opened fire on them. Officers returned fire and Hercules was shot dead. Police discovered two firearms with ammunition at the scene.
Resisting Arrest
A National Police spokesperson said ‘Police have had to repel an armed man who shot at them. He has been killed. The matter remains under investigation. Officers came under fire when they went to arrest him and were obliged to use their weapons to repel the attack, resulting in the death of the gunman. Two firearms and four cartridges he used to try to resist arrest were found next to the body of this British man.’
Convicted Criminal
Sean Hercules was 39 years old. He had previously served prison sentences in the UK for violent crimes, including shooting a man with a shotgun outside a Leeds nightclub. He also had convictions for drugs offences and armed robbery.
