Spain has experienced temperatures even higher than usual for this time of year, with some inland parts of Andalucia seeing highs of 44c last weekend.  Emergency services are now on high alert for wild fires in the area as the ground dries out.

Local authorities are reminding people that it is against the law to have BBQs and open fires close to woodland, and asking people to be extra careful when disposing of cigarette ends.
