Guardia Civil Officer Arrested For Causing Torremolinos Crash Which Killed Three People
A Guardia Civil officer has been arrested on suspicion of causing a multi vehicle pile up on the A7 yesterday near Torremolinos. Three people have died and three more remain in hospital. The off duty officer tested positive for cocaine and alcohol at the scene, and is currently in jail awaiting a second court appearance.
The fatal crash happened on Wednesday 28th June at 4.15pm on the A7 at Torremolinos. The off duty officer is thought to have collided with a Mercedes mini van which was carrying tourists heading to Puerto Banus. The van then came into contact other vehicles, including a lorry, before being lifted into the air when passengers were thrown from the vehicle onto the road.
One woman died instantly, a man and a woman have since died in hospital. An 18 year old girl is in a critical condition, and a mother and daughter are recovering at the Virgen De La Victoria Hospital.
