Friday 6th December is the beginning of a long weekend in Spain with two public holidays.  Constitution Day on Friday, and Immaculate Conception Day on Sunday which generates a public holiday on Monday.  The DGT are warning of severe delays on main roads as families travel to make the most of the four day weekend.

Over the next four days there will be around 6.5 million long distance road trips taking place in Spain.  The DGT says Malaga Province can expect almost 300,000 journeys to happen.  The most severe congestion is expected this evening (Thursday 5th December) and on Friday morning.

The roads which are expected to carry the most extra traffic are the A7 through Fuengirola and also through Puerto Banus, the MA20 at Malaga airport, and the A7 at Rincon De La Victoria.
