Police have confirmed that a three year old boy has died in San Pedro, after being struck by a car which was driven by a British tourist.  The death is being investigated, but treated as accidental.

There were four people travelling in the vehicle, which had stopped to retrieve a baseball cap that had blown out of the window.  When the vehicle set off again, the three year old boy was hit.  He had just been let out of another vehicle by his grandmother.

The occupants of the car are all British tourists aged 20 to 24.  A breath test at the scene showed that the driver had not been drinking.
