Migrants Coming To Spain

Migrants Coming To Spain

Migrants Coming To Spain – Spain is getting ready to welcome 200 migrants. Coming from Italy and Greece, these migrants will arrive in Spain in early May.  Spain will then prepare to receive 385 migrants from Syria though a time for their arrival has not yet been given.

It is thought that 16,000 immigrants were to be brought to the Spanish peninsula from Italy, though currently less than 20 have made the journey.  It is not clear if or when the others will follow.  Greece, Cyprus, and Turkey have signed an agreement to return illegal border crossing migrants to a safe zone within Turkey.  Italian and Greek authorities have adopted a controversial policy which has seen them returning illegal immigrants to Turkey.  It was hoped that this would disrupt the work of mafia organisations and people traffickers.
