WIN a Holiday for 2 in Morocco!
DAY 1
Depart from Algeciras. Reception by our staff in the Port and high speed boat cruise to Cueta (45 mins approx). On arrival, accommodation in coach and border procedures. Continue to M¨Diq or Tetuan. Transfer to selected hotel, dinner and overnight.
DAY 2
Breakfast and visit of Tetuan, Capital of the Spanish “protectorate” until 1956 and the most Andalusian city of Morocco, also known as “La Palona Blanca”. Visit the medina and some of its most characteristic souks and markets, with time for shopping. Through the Jewry or mella we will arrive to the Hassan !! Square, where the Royal Palace is located. Crossing boulevards and cafes that date back to the time of the protectorate.
Typical Moroccan lunch enlivened with folklore of the region, and once finalised then to Tangier. Visit of this millenary city dominated by several towns throughout its history, and declared an international city for much of the middle of the 20th century. Today it is the economic and administrative capital of the northern region of Morocco,and an important and cosmopolitan business centre, a panoramic view of the modern city by coach:
Pasteur Boulevard, Place de France and diplomatic quarters. Then we will visit Cabo Espartel, with spectacular views over the Strait of Gibraltar, where you will have the opportunity to camel and visit the caves of Hercules and its famous African Gate, formed by the erosion of the sea. After the return visit to Tetouan, transfer to selected hotel. Dinner and accommodation.
DAY 3
Breakfast and continuation of the tip to Chauen, settled in a valley in the Rif mountain range. Its name, in the Rhone dialect means “horns”, alludes to the two mountain peaks visible from the city, founded in 1471 by Muslims and Jews exiled from Al-Andalus. These imitated the narrow and irregular layout of the Andalusian villages, and whitewashed their houses in the habit of preserving their present inhabitants.
There will be a walking tour started by the exteriors of the Alcazaba and the octangonal mosque,located in the square Uta Hammam,and crossing the whole medina we will go up to the spring Ras Al-Ma, to the north and beyond the walls that surround it. This spring suplies water to the innumerable fountains spread throughout the locality.
Finished the visit,lunch in Ryad or hotel,and then free time o enjoy the city on your own and do your shopping. At the time indicated by the guide, we will return to our coach to make the return transfer to Ceuta. Boarding back to Algeciras.
