Court Prevents Covid Passports In Andalucia
The Regional Government in Andalucia has been refused authorisation to introduce “covid passports” by the region’s top court. The Junta has been seeking to bring in mandatory passports for anyone using health centres or residential homes for the elderly.
Passports Are A Proportional Measure
Whilst the court agreed that the measure was proportional to the situation, it took issue with the lack of an end date for the proposal, stating “in the event that the Court ratifies the order in the terms in which it has been presented, it would have a totally indefinite duration which would be beyond the control of its proportionality, necessity and suitability.”
The Junta de Andalucia may now revise it’s proposal and resubmit it to the court.
