New Rules For Electric Scooter Riders In Marbella

New laws regulating electric scooter riders in Marbella have now come into effect.  These include an upper speed limit of 20kph (reduced to 5hph in some areas), and a lower age limit of 14 years.  All riders must also have insurance, use cycle lanes where possible, and never ride on pavements in pedestrianised areas.

Electric scooters must have front and rear lights.  Riders are required by law to wear a helmet and appropriate clothing (nothing baggy) with shoes.  Using headphones and mobile phones is also banned.
