Spanish Warship Told To Leave British Gibraltar Territorial Waters

There are frequent incursions into British Gibraltar territorial waters by both official and unofficial Spanish vessels, because Spain does not recognise the waters around Gibraltar as being British.  Tensions are running high between Gibraltar and Spain due to the current situation with Brexit, you can read more about that here.  Due to these tensions, a spotlight has been shone on the arrival of the Spanish warship Infanta Cristina.

Warship Warned Off

The warship Infanta Cristina is an  89 metre warship which has just returned from duty in the Gulf Of Aden. The HMS Scimitar is a tiny vessel at just 16 metres in comparison to the Spanish warship.  The Scimitar warned the Infanta Cristina, which then withdrew to Spanish waters.
