Malaga Port Ferry Crash – a passenger ferry has crashed into the port at Malaga, causing the Malaga to Melilla route to be closed

Malaga Port Ferry Crash

A ferry carrying 143 passengers from Melilla in North Africa to Malaga has crashed into Malaga port.  No one on board the boat was injured though the ferry’s hull has suffered from damage and the port wall was also damaged.  A steering problem on the Pinar Del Rio is being blamed for the crash.

The Pinar Del Rio has crashed into the dock wall at Malaga port.

Stowaways

Witnesses said that two stowaways jumped from the ferry into the port waters after the crash.  Five others were later found inside the ferry.  Police have detained all seven stowaways.
