The Ajoblanco Festival is the oldest food festival in Malaga province.  Taking place on the first Saturday in September in Almachar to the east of Malaga, the festival celebrates the traditional local delicacy of ajoblanco.  People travel from all over the region to enjoy traditional music, flamenco dancing, food, and drink.  In the evening a ceremonial bonfire is lit which burns through until dawn the next day.
