Carousel the musical is coming to the Salón Varietés Theatre in Fuengirola. The Salón Varietés Carousel production includes all of the popular music from the show, as well as an updated take on the original style, bringing the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein story to life for our modern audience.

Carousel By Rodgers And Hammerstein
Carousel the Musical was written by Rodgers and Hammerstein in 1945, as an adaptation from a 1909 play by Molnár called ‘Liliom’, set in Budapest.
Rodgers and Hammerstein reset the story to the New England coastline of Maine, USA and brought the whole story to life through music. The duo had been keen to collaborate again after the success of ‘Oklahoma’ in 1943 and Carousel first hit the Broadway stage in April 1945, running for 890 performances, then continuing its success in the West End.
The show includes the well known songs ‘If I Loved You’, ‘June Is Bustin’ Out All Over’ and ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’. Richard Rodgers later wrote that Carousel was his favorite of all his musicals.
