Pujerra Chestnut Festival. An event with music and dance, and 50 types of food prepared with chestnuts.
Pujerra Chestnut Festival
The Pujerra chestnut festival takes place every year in Pujerra, located in the Serranía de Ronda mountain range, at the end of October or beginning of November. It also coincides with celebrations for the village’s patron saint, Our Lady of Fátima.
The festival is usually held after harvesting is complete.
During the celebrations there is music and dancing in the village’s streets, as well as the chance to sample more than 50 dishes prepared with chestnuts and accompanied with anise or spirits. There are also several stands displaying the typical clothes and tools used for harvesting chestnuts.
