Snails are a popular traditional dish in Riogordo, which is why they celebrate and pay tribute to this delicacy one day every year with the Snail Day.

During this unique celebration, 350 kg of snails are prepared according to one of the best local recipes. As well as tasting snails and wine, you can sample other typical local products.

During the day, the celebrations include performances of regional dances. There is also a parade of rondallas, bands of street musicians, and choirs and dance troupes. In addition, the town holds a livestock fair, which is an extremely important event. To bring proceedings to a close, annual prizes are awarded to people and associations that have contributed to the progress of the town.
