The Malaga Carnival

the Malaga Carnival kicks off with the crowning of the carnival king and queen.  During carnival week there are parades and processions, children’s parties, music, dancing, street food, concerts, a ‘Battle of the Flowers,’ and finally a wild Boquerón party – the tasting of the anchovies –  in Plaza de la Constitucion. The carnival wraps up with a giant Boquerón (anchovy) strutting through the city to La Malaqueta beach, where it takes centre stage in a huge bonfire.
