Boy Chained Up In Huelva

Police in Huelva, Andalucia, have charged a mother with child abuse and neglect.  It´s alleged that she left the seven year old boy locked in a room while she went to work.  Neighbours contacted police after hearing cries for help.  Police said that the boy was found chained up and padlocked, and was in dirty and hungry.  The room he was locked in had appalling hygiene and sanitation.

The child was taken to a medical centre where he was fed, washed, clothed, and treated.  It came to light that he was regularly left alone in the room from 6.30am to 4.30pm when his mother went to work.  He is now being cared for by social services.
