British Schoolboy Dies After Rooftop Fall In Marbella

A 14 year old schoolboy has died after falling 20 metres from the roof of the Costa Marbella shopping centre in Puerto Banus. It’s thought that he had made a suicide pact with his 16 year old girlfriend, who was rescued from the roof before she could jump.

Suspected Suicide Pact

Shopping centre staff were alerted to a post on social media made by the couple, announcing their plans to commit suicide. Staff rushed to the roof but arrived too late to stop the boy from jumping. The girl hesitated, and staff were able to take hold of her and prevent her from jumping from the roof.

A State Of Shock

A source from the shopping centre said ‘We received a call just before midday. The call came through to reception and security guards were alerted immediately. They went straight up to the roof when they were told the couple would be and although they sadly got there too late to save the boy, were able to reach the girl in time.

‘It would appear she hesitated after experiencing a split-second of doubt and that gave the security guards time to grab hold of her and save her life. Everyone’s in a state of shock. It’s horrific what’s happened.’
