Bullfighter Seriously Injured In Malaga

Mexican bullfighter Leo Valadez has been seriously injured at the Malaga feria.  Valadez is a novice, and became caught in the decorative darts which are thrust into the bull´s neck and shoulders.  He was then gored in the thigh by one of the bulls horns.

Injury

The injury didn´t appear to be serious, but a medical examiner has described how the laceration did serious damage.  Valadez has a 20cm gash, severed ligaments, and a damaged sciatic nerve.  He is now being treated in Malaga hospital for his injuries.

Support For Bullfighting

PETA say that support for bullfighting in Spain is now at an all time low, especially with the younger generation.  A survey conducted by Ipsos MORI revealed that 93% of Spaniards aged 16 to 24 do not support bullfighting and would like to the see the tradition ended.
