Easyjet Pilots Begin Strike
Easyjet passengers are facing delays and cancellations at Malaga airport. Pilots are beginnning the first of three strikes today, with each strike planned to last for three days. Pilots accepted a pay cut during the pandemic to protect the airline and their jobs, but a surge in passenger numbers and the airline adding new routes has lead to their demands for previous salaried to be re-instated.
Easyjet operates from three bases in Spain, all of which will be affected by the striked. These airports are Malaga, Barcelona, and Palma. Easyjet are saying they will maintain reduced services during the strikes, with an estimated 60% of flights operating normally at Malaga airport.
Easyjet Pilot Strike Dates
The strikes are taking place on the 12th, 13th, 14th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 27th, 28th and 29th August.
