Fire Crews Tackling Mijas Blaze. Four aircraft and 84 firefighters continue to tackle a blaze which broke out near Mijas this morning.
Fire Crews Tackling Mijas Blaze
***Update*** The fire has been declared “controlled” by Infoca at 1pm on Monday.
84 firefighters along with two helicopters and two planes have been tackling a blaze which broke out in the Valtocado area near Mijas at 4am on Sunday 12th November. The blaze has destroyed 250 hectares of land.
Strong Winds Hampering Firefighters
The fire has been spreading south towards La Cala Hills and Mijas Golf at a speed of 30 metres per minute. Strong winds have been making conditions difficult for the fire crews, with gusts reaching speeds of 80km/h.

300 People Evacuated
Guardia Civil have closed the A387 between Mijas and Alhaurin. Police evacuated 300 residents from the Rincon Del Hinojal and Lomas Del Flamenco areas. No casualties have been reported.
