Infoca Increases Fire Fighting Resources

Andalucia’s specialist fire fighters have been granted a 27% budget increase for summer 2023.  Infoca now has a budget of €223,000,000.  The unit have already ordered 17 new fire engines, and a ground based drone. There are 117 vehicles able to tackle this summer’s wild fires.

The Minister of the Interior said that the increased budget and better resources are “essential for the safety of Andalucians and those who visit us”.  Antonio Sanz added “Andalucia needs a new, more up to date model for emergency management”.

In recent years the Costa Del Sol has experienced some devastating wild fires, notably in Pujerra and Mijas.
