Local Pharmacies Offer Domestic Abuse Help
During the lockdown period in Spain there are fears that victims of domestic abuse and violence are unable to get away from the perpetrator and seek help. Pharmacies on the Costa Del Sol are now offering to help anyone who uses the code “mascarilla 19” whilst in their premises. This will alert the staff that the person is suffering from domestic abuse.
Pharmacy staff will then discreetly alert the police and offer help to the victim. Other ways for victims to seek help for domestic abuse during the lockdown include a 24 hour telephone helpline and an emergency email. The number to call is 900 200 999 and the email address is atencioncrisisviolenciasexual@amuvi.org
