Spain has welcomed a record breaking number of international visitors during July.  10.9 million international tourists visited the country which is an increase of 7.3% on the same period last year.  More than 2 million tourists came to Spain from the UK.  Each tourist spent an average of €1432 during their visit, which is 4% more than the previous year.  Spain’s tourism minister Jordi Hereu said these figures “corroborate the fact that tourism continues to drive the country’s economy, generating wealth and employment”.

Total figures for the first seven months of 2024 show a 12% increase on last year, with a record 53.4 million international tourists visiting Spain, contributing 71.1 billion euros to the economy.
