Strikes Have Minimal Impact At Malaga Airport Today

The Ryanair and Easyjet staff strikes are having a minimal impact on operations at Malaga airport today.  Only four Easyjet flights have been cancelled, as striking workers say the airline has brought in crews from other international airports.

Working Conditions And Pay

Easyjet staff are on strike in protest over working conditions and pay in Spain.  A protestor at the entry to terminal 3 explained that striking is not wanted, but is neccessary as negotiations have failed.  He told us that the pay disparity for workers in different European countries is too great.  The protestor is claiming that Easyjet staff in Germany are paid €1983 per month, in France the salary is €1850 per month, but staff here in Spain are paid €950 per month.  Easyjet said they were unable to comment on staff salaries.

Easyjet Strike Dates At Malaga Airport

Easyjet staff have planned striked on the following dates: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 15th, 16th, 17th, 29th, 30th and 31st July at Malaga airport.
