William Clarke
Born and bred on the Wirral Peninsula, William Clarke’s journey has been nothing short of unremarkable. As a lad, he spent his summers basking in the golden sands of West Kirby by day, while by night he ignited the airwaves across the Northwest on various pirate radio stations.
Unbelievably he managed to evade the long arm of the law during those dodgy broadcasting escapades! However, as the years rolled on, William transitioned into the legit world of radio, criss crossing cities from Chester to Cardiff, Dublin to Sheffield, before ultimately finding his home in the vibrant city of Manchester. He eventually hung up his headphones, bidding adieu to radio presenting and DJing in 2006, embarking on a new journey in the world of marketing.
His marketing career took him to esteemed brands such as Bolton Wanderers Football Club and Mecca Bingo before landing his current role managing various online gaming brands. Interestingly, just over the border in Gibraltar, a thriving hub for online gaming companies, is where many of his colleagues now commute daily via the E-15 highway.
In 2007 William discovered the enchanting Costa Del Sol during a family visit to Marbella. Despite being a latecomer to this sunny paradise, it quickly became his preferred refuge from the drab skies and ceaseless rain of Manchester.

After an impressive 17-year hiatus from radio, William is back on the airwaves. He’s thrilled to make 93.6 Global Radio his new home, where he presents Late And Local every Sunday night from 10pm to midnight. Tune into 93.6FM to be treated to some of the finest tunes from the past four decades, as well as engaging insights into our local area and its culinary delights.
Speaking of food, William is a true connoisseur, with a collection of cookery books that span from Gordon Ramsey to Nigella Lawson. So, if you have any insider tips on great dining spots, don’t hesitate to give him a shout. William is always up for a gastronomic adventure!
