On Thursday morning the Harp Bar in Calahonda was destroyed by fire at around 5.20am.  Nearby residents heard explosions and saw smoke rising from the building.  The fire brigade arrived on the scene quickly and extinguished the blaze which has gutted the bar.

Hooded Man At The Scene

Police are now investigating the cause of the fire, as CCTV footage points towards arson.  The CCTV video shows a hooded man approaching the bar with a can which may have contained fuel.  The camera then recorded a flash, and the man can be seen running from away from the bar.

The owner of the bar is promising to rebuild and reopen as soon as possible.  Zoltan Eisenberger said “We want to assure you that we are not giving up. We are determined to come together as a team and rebuild our wonderful little bar, making it even better than before.”
