Animal Shelter Appeals For Help After Flooding – the PAD animal shelter is underwater in Mijas
Animal Shelter Appeals For Help After Flooding
The PAD animal shelter in Mijas has been hit hard by this weekend’s bad weather. The shelter is flooded, leaving animals stranded and volunteers without the facilities to care for them. Most of the dogs have now been taken to foster homes, but the shelter is appealing for help to foster the cats.
Cats Need Foster Homes
The cats at the PAD shelter are desperately in need of foster homes until the flooding can be cleared. If you can help, please contact Chantal on 667 428 620. Due to the nature of the emergency she may not be able to take your call immediately, but the shelter asks that you keep trying to get through.
Destruction
The floods have destroyed the shelter’s phones, fridges, food supplies, washing machine, dryer, blankets and other essential items needed to care for the animals.
Missing Dog
During the confusion of the flooding, Frodo has run away from the shelter. He was last seen in the area of the Miramar Centre in Fuengirola. His name is Frodo, and he is very scared of people. His collar is broken, but he is microchipped to PAD. If you see him please contact PAD.
PAD
PAD was formed in 1996 with the aim of rescuing and re homing abandoned and mistreated dogs and cats. Over the last 20 years they have successfully re homed over 8000 animals.
