Drunk Driver Kills Woman In Benalmadena

A tragic crash has injured six people, including a two year old child, and killed a 35 year old woman in Benalmadena last night.  A car crashed into the people who were sitting in a park at the junction of the Avenida Estrella del Mar and Ronda del Golf Oeste.

Some people in the park were able to run out of the path of the Peugeot 206 which witnesses say was travelling extremely fast.  The driver swerved into the opposite lane as he took the corner then left the road as he tried to avoid an oncoming car.  He then crashed into the people who were sitting on chairs round tables in front of a kiosk.

Over The Limit

The Peugeot was being driven by a 44 year old man who works in Benalmadena as a gardener.  He was tested by police and found to be three times over  the legal alcohol limit.  It is expected that he will be charged with reckless homicide.
