Stricter Restrictions Imposed In Andalucia.  The Junta have announced that all shops, bars, and restaurants will close at 6pm, social gatherings will be limited to 4, and the curfew may be brought forward.

Stricter Restrictions Imposed In Andalucia

Andalucia is facing stricter restrictions as the government try to bring the coronavirus epidemic under control.  The Regional President announced a number of new measures which will come into force at midnight on Saturday (into Sunday morning).

The new measures announced by Juanma Moreno include:

  • All shops to close at 6pm
  • All bars, restaurants, and cafeterias to close at 6pm
  • Social gatherings limited to 4 people
  • Municipalities registering more than 500 infections per 100,000 people will be closed

8pm Curfew and Restricted Movement

Moreno is seeking approval from the Spanish government to bring the beginning of the curfew forward to 8pm.  The Regional President will also ask Pedro Sanchez for the power to introduce home confinement for people in municipalities with more than 1000 infections per 100,000 people.

The new measures will be written into law tomorrow when the Junta De Andalucia publishes the BOJA.

332 people are in ICU in the Malaga province.

1339 New Infections In Malaga

The infection numbers in Andalucia have been described as “explosive” by the regional government.  In the last 24 hours, there have been 6664 new cases recorded.  1339 of these new infections are in the Malaga province, bringing the total number of infections in Malaga to 48,009.  332 people remain in intensive care units. 830 people have died from coronavirus.
