Weekend Weather Warnings. The yellow weather warning on the Costa Del Sol for strong winds has been extended again to include Sunday morning.

The Yellow weather warnings in place for the Costa Del Sol have been extended again. The warnings now remain active throughout Friday and Saturday, until 7am on Sunday 30th January.

The weather warnings from AEMET (Spain’s national weather agency) are specifically for strong winds on the coast. Wind speeds have been reaching force 7, which is around 60km/h. Waves during a force 7 storm can reach 3 metres.

Amber: Be prepared. There is an increased likelihood of bad weather affecting people in the concerned area, which could potentially disrupt people’s plans and possibly cause travel delays, road and rail closures, interruption to power and the potential risk to life and property.

Red: Take action. Extreme weather is expected. Red means people in the concerned areas should take action now to keep themselves and others safe from the impact of the weather. Widespread damage, travel and power disruption and risk to life is likely.
