Six Street Vendors Arrested
Six illegal street vendors have been arrested by police in Benalmadena. The men were selling counterfeit goods around the marina area. Police seized more than a thousand counterfeit articles, including 209 bags and 155 pairs of sunglasses. The goods are estimated to be worth €20,000.
Police teams in Benalmadena are increasing their response to illegal street selling. The town Mayor, Javier Marin, says “These operations help stop such activities so they cannot harm the interest of our community’s local businesses, who work hard every day to create jobs and generate wealth.” The Mayor warned street sellers that there will be more arrests, saying “this is not the only operation we will carry out. They will be periodically performed to prevent the sale of fake products on our streets.”
