Sewage Contamination Closes Malaga Beach.  A ruptured sewage pipe has contaminated sea water and forced the closure of Sacaba beach in Malaga.

Sewage Contamination Closes Malaga Beach

Police have evacuated beach users from Sacaba beach in Malaga and temporarily closed the beach after sewage contaminated the area.  A pipe carrying waste from a Malaga sanitation facility has ruptured and caused the closure of the beach.  The manager of the sanitation plant says that whilst they’re not responsible for the integrity of the pipes, the moment the problem was identified he immediately stopped the waste being pumped through the system.

Sacaba beach is currently closed.

Unbearable Smell

A cleanup team from Emasa (the municipal water company of Malaga) has been working to sanitise and clean waste from the affected area.  Despite the work being close to completion, residents are complaining that “the smell is unbearable”.
