The weather alert level has been raised to amber on the Costa Del Sol by Spain’s national weather agency (AEMET). The warning is for gale force 8 winds which can reach speeds of up to 80kmh and 4 metre high waves. The warning is active until midnight tonight, when it is reduced to a yellow alert with force 7 winds until 3pm on Saturday (18th February).

Red: Take action. Extreme weather is expected. Red means people in the concerned areas should take action now to keep themselves and others safe from the impact of the weather. Widespread damage, travel and power disruption and risk to life is likely.
