Costa Del Sol Heat Warning Today. Spain’s national weather agency has issued a yellow weather warning for high temperatures on the Costa Del Sol today.

Spain’s national weather agency (AEMET) has issued a yellow weather warning today. Temperatures could reach 38c in places on the Costa Del Sol, and may be even high in some places inland. The warning is in place until 9pm. Tomorrow should feel slightly cooler with highs forecast of 32c.

With the high temperatures comes an increased risk of fires which have been known to devastate areas of the Costa Del Sol. There is also an increased risk to animals, as pet owners are being reminded to provide shade and water for their animals.

Emergency services are on standby to deal with fires caused by the high temperatures.

Red: Take action. Extreme weather is expected. Red means people in the concerned areas should take action now to keep themselves and others safe from the impact of the weather. Widespread damage, travel and power disruption and risk to life is likely.
