Amber Alert For Torrential Rain Today
An amber weather warning is now in place for torrential rain and gale force winds of up to 90kmh on the Costa Del Sol. The warning has been issued by Spain’s national weather agency (AEMET). It began at 12pm and remains active until midnight tonight (Thursday 19th October). 50mm of accumulated rainfall is expected between 12pm and midnight.
Gale force 10 winds can reach speeds of up to 102kmh. Waves could reach heights of 6 metres during this period.

Red: Take action. Extreme weather is expected. Red means people in the concerned areas should take action now to keep themselves and others safe from the impact of the weather. Widespread damage, travel and power disruption and risk to life is likely.
