The calima is back on the Costa Del Sol, though the effects are more mild than on previous occasions.  Visibility is being reduced slightly and things appear hazy.   The phenomenon known as “calima” is a haze is caused by sand which has been blown from the Sahara desert.

No Rain Forecast

There is no rain forecast this week, which despite the current drought is a relief for many.  Rain during a calima creates deposists of sandy mud, covers buildings and cars in dust, and can cause serious problems with swimming pools and outdoor facilities.
