Ronda Road Partially Reopening Next Week
The main road which connects Ronda with the Costa Del Sol will partially reopen on Monday 14th July. The A-397 was completely blocked and the bridge at Los Madronos was damaged by a landslide on the 8th March after severe storms hit the area. The reopening of one lane to traffic will be a huge relief to the thousands of motorists who make the journey every day.
It’s hoped that repairs will be finished in August. The work is costing around €3.5 million. Defenses are also being constructed to help protect the road from landslides in the future. A twenty strong team and specialist equipment, including a 200 tonne crane have been working at heights of 100 metres to repair the carriageway.

One of the alternatives routes between San Pedro and Ronda.
Alternative Routes
Alternative routes from San Pedro to Ronda are via Coin and Ardales, or via Gaucin and Manilva. These routes take almost twice as long though, with journey times taking roughly 1 hour and 40 minutes.
