Andalucia Makes Massive Investment Into Beaches
Andalucia is preparing for the return of international tourists with a massive cash investment. €34 million will be spent making the beaches as safe and pleasant as possible. More than 300 beaches will benefit from the investment, which is being spent on 75 pick up vehicles, 81 quad bikes, 21 buggies, 13 boats, 14 jet skis, and new buoys.
The changes have also generated new employment opportunities. 3000 people have been hired to offer help and assistance on the beaches. Elias Bendodo from the Junta De Andalucia says “The beach assistants will keep an eye on bathers, control the beach capacity and ensure that safety and protection measures are met by visitors.”
Blue Flag Beaches
Six more beaches in the Malaga area have been awarded the prestigious blue flag, bringing the total to 23. The six new blue flag beaches are Los Boliches – Gaviotas, Castillo and Fuengirola beaches in Fuengirola; El Cable and Puerto Banús Levante in Marbella; and Los Álamos in Torremolinos.
