Andalucia Ready To Relax Restrictions. Regional government announces changes to restrictions as Andalucia leaves the “high risk” category.
Andalucia Ready To Relax Restrictions
Andalucia is no longer in the “high risk” category for coronavirus infections, as the incidence rate has fallen below 250 cases per 100,000 people. The Junta de Andalucia has held a meeting with health experts and agreed that some of the current restrictions will be relaxed. These changes will come into effect with the publication of the BOJA on Thursday morning.
Key Changes To Restrictions
The notable changes to the current restrictions in Andalucia are:
- Bars and restaurants can open until 2am (though service must end at 1am)
- Nightlife venues can open until 3.30am (drinks not to be served after 3am)
- Coffee shops, ice cream parlours, and can open until 2am (no drinks to be served after 1am)
- Theme parks can remain open until 2am
Increased numbers will also be permitted at conferences, depending on the alert level of the health district. Conferences may hold a thousand people indoors at level 1, and 800 people at Level 2. Outdoor conferences can hold up to 1,500 people at levels one and two.
Battle Has Not Yet Been Won
Regional President Juanma Morena has warned that despite the improvement in figures, the battle against covid-19 “has not yet been won”. He encouraged everyone in Andalucia to get vaccinated, noting that there are still a million people in the region who “due to doubts, confusion or because they are still thinking about it” have not yet been vaccinated.
