Brits Need Vaccinations Or PCR Test To Enter Spain

On Thursday the entry requirements for travellers from the UK entering Spain will change.  Spain’s Prime Minister announced today that only fully vaccinated people, and those with a negative PCR test, will be able to enter Spain.  The decision comes as concern over the Delta variant of Covid-19 is growing in Spain.

The new rules won’t be enforced until Thursday “so that tour operators and British tourists are able to adapt to the new rules.” Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said.  Speaking to Cadena SER this morning he said “The cumulative incidence rate in the United Kingdom has been progressing negatively during these last few weeks. It is far above 150 cases (per 100,000 people) in 14 days, and that is why we have to take an additional precaution with respect to the arrival of British tourists to our country.”

UK Amber List

Mainland Spain remains on the UK’s amber list. This means those returning to Britain must quarantine for 10 days, take a PCR test before leaving Spain, another within two days of returning to the UK, and a third test  8 days into the quarantine.
