Costa Del Sol Dust Cloud Causing Breathing Difficulties
A cloud of dust and sand has been hanging in the air over many parts of the Costa Del Sol since Sunday. Experts are saying that the dust cloud will likely be here until Friday. The meteorological phenomenon has been causing some people to experience breathing difficulties. Anyone with respiratory problems is being advised to stay indoors whenever possible.
The dust levels are likely to reach a high of 200 micrograms per cubic metre this afternoon, before winds begin to carry the cloud away. Doctors are warning people to expect hay fever like symptoms, which can be brought on by exposure to the dust. These will include itchy eyes and nose, sneezing, dry throat, and fatigue. Home treatments being recommended include rinsing the face with warm water, steam inhalation, and drinking plenty of fluids.
