Costa Del Sol Incidence Rate Falls Below Fifty
The Costa Del Sol health district now has a 14 day accumulated incidence rate of 48.7 cases per 100,000 people, a reduction of 10 points over the last week. The Malaga City health district has seen a slight drop to 36.3 cases per 100,000 people.
Andalucia has registered 289 new cases of coronavirus over the weekend, with one fatality reported. Malaga Province recorded 63 new infections, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 155,142. The number of people in hospital in the province remains stable at 66, with 12 people in the ICU.
The New Normal
Last week the Costa Del Sol health district moved to alert level zero. Bars, restaurants, and retailers have welcomed the removal of limits to the numbers of customers and their opening hours. Face masks remain mandatory indoors.
