Costa Del Sol Weather Warning Extended

Spain’s national weather agency AEMET has extended the current weather warning to include Saturday.  There is an amber weather warning in place on Thursday and Friday for dangerously strong winds on the Costa Del Sol.  Amber is the second most severe of the warnings which can be issued. The warning is in place from 6am on Thursday 18th November until 11pm on Friday.  Winds could be as strong as force 8 (up to 74 km/h), with waves up to five metres high being predicted.

The warning now runs into Saturday morning, though it downgrades to a yellow weather warning from 12am to 6am on the 20th November.  The yellow warning is for force 7 winds (up to 61 km/h) and waves up to 3 metres. After the weather warning ends on Saturday morning there is a strong chance of thunderstorms, with rain forecast to arrive in the afternoon.
