Orange Weather Warning For The Costa Del Sol

Costa Del Sol Weather Warnings

The Costa Del Sol is set to experience a three day deluge.  Spain’s national weather agency (AEMET) have put a yellow weather warning in place for Three Kings Day until 6pm.  This is then being escalated to an orange level warning for the remainder of Wednesday until 6am on Thursday morning.  The warning is then downgraded back to yellow, until Friday.

The weather warnings focus on heavy rain, and winds of up to 70kph.  Malaga based weather expert José María Sánchez-Laulhé believes that the area could receive a fifth of our total average rainfall in just three days.  He spoke of “abundant rains, which in the Malaga area could reach 100mm and in parts of western regions up to 200 litres.” There is also a high probability of snow at higher altitudes.
