Huelva Forest Fire Destroys 3000 Hectares
A forest fire has been raging near Huelva in Andalucia since Monday. The local government have declared a level 2 emergency, as 300 people have been evacuated from their homes and the fire has consumed 3000 hectares of land.
The fire broke out in Villanueva de los Castillejos on Monday morning, and is being tackled by specialist ground crews with aerial support. Soldiers from the UME in Seville have also joined the teams working to extinguish the blaze. Currently 407 firefighters with 14 fire engines and 25 aircraft are at the scene.
