Less Severe Sandstorms Expected
The dreaded dust clouds are returning to the Costa Del Sol, though they will be far less severe than those which we experienced recently. Storm Evelyn will bring heavy rainfall at times on Monday and Tuesday along with more Saharan sand, a phenomonon known as “calima”.

A return of the recent red skies is unlikely.

Red Skies Unlikely
Spain’s national weather agency (AEMET) are saying that the sandstorm will not be comparable with the previous calima on the Costa Del Sol. Jesús Riesco, meteorologist, says “Today there is haze, but it is less severe, not like the two previous episodes.” He added that a return of the red skies is highly unlikely and said there is litte cause for concern.
There are currently no weather warnings in place for Malaga Province. You can see the latest forecasts here.
