Malaga Mayor Says No To Noisy Stag And Hen Nights
The Mayor of Malaga has announced his intention to put an end to noisy stag and hen nights in the city. Francisco De Le Torre says Malaga must not be allowed to turn into an “uncontrolled city”. He is now considering ways to reduce the noise levels and the inconvenience caused by partying tourists.
One of the suggestions being considered to control noise levels is to install decibel meters inside tourist accomodation. The practicalities of this have not yet been investigated and it is unclear how the council and police would enforce rules about noise pollution.
The city is currently dealing with around five noise related complaints a day. This number is expected to rise as the summer tourist season gets underway, and the often unruly stag and hen parties arrive in Malaga. Many restaurants won’t accept bookings from large single sex groups, with a spokesman saying “this is not the image we want to give and that is why a lot of restaurants refuse to accept stag parties”.
